CTC Pre-Check
- Why is pre-check required?
A. Pre-Check helps users determine if a vehicle will pass a CTC inspection before submitting to CARB. This allows more time than the 30-day window to perform necessary repairs if the vehicle is likely to fail. - How does pre-check work?
A. The Pre-Check app generates a report immediately after a test is submitted. It includes important diagnostic information such as trouble codes (DTCs), number of warm-ups, miles and hours driven since codes were cleared, and the status of each monitor. If the vehicle fails, the report explains the reason. - Which software or app is required to do a pre-check?
A. The DAWN OBD Pre-Check™ app, which is a separate app compatible with the Mini Streamer hardware. It connects to HEM Data’s server to simulate CARB’s CTC analysis. - How Pre-Check it is pre-check activated?
A. After purchasing the CTC device, provide the barcode found on the Mini Streamer hardware to activate Pre-Check. - Can I purchase only pre-check?
