KEY FEATURES OF THE SMOKE CHECK 1667

The majority of states that have diesel emissions testing programs use this unit for enforcement. Use the same opacity meter that the California Air Resources Board (CARB) uses to test fleets and issue fines. This unit is certified SAE J1667.

This is used for the HD I/M Clean Truck Check (CTC) vehicles older than 2012. The CTC certification can be viewed on the CARB website here.

USER DOES NOT HAVE TO BE “PC LITERATE” TO USE THE SMOKE CHECK 1667
Nor does the user need to use a PC to operate meter. PCs are delicate and expensive instruments and can be damaged by day-to-day use in a diesel emissions testing environment. For example, they can be damaged when dropped when transporting the PC from truck to truck and ruined by dirt and grime.

AUTOMATIC ATMOSPHERIC CORRECTION
Barometric pressure, relative humidity, and ambient temperature can make some tests results inaccurate by up to 13.2 percentage points. The Smoke Check 1667 automatically measures these variables and does these computations so no user involvement or necessary.
